Banquet Highlights

Scholarship recipients and their families are invited to attend the OHSAA Scholar-Athlete Banquet in Columbus in June. They keynote speech is delivered by the OHSAA’s Ethics & Integrity award winner each year. Previous award winners include Jimmy Crum, Fred Dafler, Jo Ann Davidson, Wayne Embry, John Glenn, Archie Griffin, Bill Hosket, Robert Kanaby, Clark Kellogg, Larry Kehres, Chester Rousch, Pat Tabler, Jim Tressel, and Duane Warns. 

The 2010 award recipient was Larry Larson.  Larson, a beloved figure in Central Ohio and known as "Mr. High School Sports, " devoted 32 years to education as a teacher, coach and administrator.  Larson developed the "Stand and Deliver" program in 1995, which takes top high school senior athletes to middle schools and elementary schools in Central Ohio to talk about like and growing up.  He is currently in his 19th year of covering sports for 610 WTVN radio and has covered the Columbus Blue Jackets, all Ohio State sports teams, the Memorial and LPGA golf tournaments, Crew soccer, Clippers baseball, local college sports and of course,  the  entire high school sports scene.  He has also written a weekly column for Columbus ThisWeek  Newspapers for the last 13 years ad has also covered high school sports for the Columbus Citizen-Journal, Suburban News, WCMH-TV Channel 4 WBNS Radio and WOSU Radio.
